RIKAY Flags Off Reconstruction of Asheri Primary Health Centre, Expands Site for Improved Healthcare Delivery
The Executive Chairman of Badagry West Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Rauf Ibrahim Kayode Yemaren (RIKAY), has officially commenced the construction of a new Primary Health Centre (PHC) in Asheri, following the demolition of the old and outdated structure. The project includes additional plots of land to expand the facility and enhance access to modern healthcare services for residents of the community.
Speaking during the flag-off ceremony, Hon. RIKAY reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to improving healthcare infrastructure across the LCDA. According to him, “Health remains a top priority for our administration. The people of Asheri deserve a functional, modern and accessible health centre. This project is another demonstration of our resolve to deliver the dividends of democracy where it matters most, at the grassroots.”
The Council Boss further assured that the new PHC will feature improved consultation rooms, maternity sections, patient reception areas, and more. “We are deliberate about sustainability and quality service delivery. This is not just a building project; it’s an investment in the lives and wellbeing of our people,” he added.
The Baale of Asheri Community, Chief Oke, on behalf of residents, commended Hon. RIKAY for his developmental strides and described the gesture as a welcome relief to the community. “We are proud of this administration’s commitment to Asheri. This health centre will serve generations and bring lasting benefits to our people especially as a border area,” he said with appreciation.
Present at the event were councillors of Badagry West LCDA, community leaders, Council Manager, Engr. Akande Lawrence and the Chief of Staff to the Chairman, Mr. Sovi Gusanu, who all applauded the initiative as another milestone in the council’s efforts to improve living standards across all communities.
